Pierre de Tuf, Red wine
It is
fermented in a rock
elliptical barrel (structured vertically) which was carved out naked
rock for this purpose 600 years ago! The wine is produced, using as
closely as possible, the techniques of those past times - proof that
wines of this distant past were certainly not 'rough'.
An exceptional Cabernet Franc red wine of very limited annual
production - of about 22 barrels, that is, about 7000 bottles only.
The vintage(s) on sale just
now at the cellar are 2007 & 2008
This powerful wine has very ripe and spicy flavours, lots of complexity
in aromas. It has a round
and smooth taste and a mysteriously 'warm' effect in the mouth.
Best to enjoy between 14 and 16 °C. It accompanies perfectly
pig meat, red meat, grilled meat and spicy dishes
